Remote

We are remote-first company and we hire globally. But to keep worker’s work-life balance we expect you to have at least a 3-hour daily overlap with the Pacific timezone where the majority of our clients are located.

Apart from that we enjoy deep and uninterrupted work thanks to the async work style.

Relocation to Portugal

We have offices in San Francisco, Lisbon, and Osaka. After probationary, we can support your relocation to Portugal where there are most of your colleagues.

Open Source

We maintain 100+ open source projects, some of them became industry standards like PostCSS, Browserslist, AnyCable. We will support and guide your open source journey too.

Sometimes our clients are open source projects.

If you have any open source projects, articles, public talks, please mention them. They will give you a bonus during the hiring process.

Open Knowledge Sharing

We actively contribute back to the developer community by speaking at many conferences and by our blog.

We’re expecting that our engineer will at least write technical blog posts. But don’t worry, we will assist in writing (and speaking at conferences if you want it).

Product Ownership

On the projects we are not just closing tasks. Instead, we are focusing on business result and helping end-users. So we expect from you not just technical skills but willing to always understand what and why are you developing. We question assumptions, propose innovative solutions, and improve systems beyond the immediate task.

In return, you will have a big control over the project and see the result of your work.

Financial Transparency

We have public requirements for salary growth. We discuss company financial results as a whole team each month.

We have profit sharing and employee stock options programs.

How We Work

In command of a few engineers, design and account managers we are helping devtools startups after the initial investment step. Average team size is 2–5 people. Often some people from the team will be from client’s team (for instance, Martians’s frontend developer and designer are working with client’s backend team).

You are speaking directly with a client (often it is CTO). On most of the projects we have weekly call with daily text statuses.

Other Perks

We provide:

  • Health insurance
  • Internal English courses
  • Coverage for educational courses and materials
  • Reimbursements for hardware (and you keep and choose laptop)
