Simplifying State Management in Angular with Smart Nano Stores

State management in Angular has long lacked truly ideal solutions, with popular libraries often falling short. They can be bulky, increase bundle size, require extensive boilerplate, and burden components with overly complex logic. Choosing a state manager frequently involves trade-offs between performance, maintainability, and readability. But what if we could simplify state management and eliminate these drawbacks? This talk explores how Nano Stores – a lightweight (just 334 bytes) state manager – makes it possible. Based on the concept of smart atomic stores, Nano Stores is dependency-free, has its own ecosystem, and is compatible with all major frameworks, including Angular. Through clear examples, this talk highlights how managing state with these tiny, atomic, tree-shakable stores can be faster, cleaner, and more efficient than conventional approaches (including the most recent ones, such as Signals).
