Evil Martians are seeking a full-time Developer Marketing Manager to join our distributed team.
About the company
Evil Martians is the go-to agency for early-stage developer tools startups. We’ve been building products developers love for almost 20 years. Our team has worked with Y Combinator startups, cybersec and devtool unicorns, created open source tools used by millions, and supported companies like Bolt, Tines, and Teleport through exponential growth.
This is a hands-on role for someone who gets developer communities and can find creative ways to grow our reach.
You’ll manage our website and social media, yet we’re also looking for someone who thinks bigger—maybe through client partnerships, community building, or new channels we haven’t tried yet.
You’ll work directly with our team to showcase what we do and attract the right clients and talent.
What you’ll do
Social media & content (40%)
- Research and understand key distribution channels for Evil Martians content
- Own the content engine across our social channels, communities and email including writing content
- Compose marketing campaigns
- Grow our following and engagement across platforms fostering community
Website (30%)
- Write new copy, edit existing texts
- Draft new sections and pages, implement those changes on evilmartians.com
- Work with our leadership, design, and engineering teams to improve site conversion
- Run experiments on messaging and calls-to-action
- Track and analyze performance metrics
Client marketing support (30%)
- Research trends in developer tools and startup growth
- Create marketing strategy and content for clients
- Collaborate with project teams to craft compelling stories about our projects
What you’ll bring
- Proficiency in content strategy and marketing analytics
- 3+ years experience marketing to developers or technical audiences
- High agency and desire to learn
- Strong writing skills and content portfolio
- Understanding of how developers discover and evaluate tools
- Bonus points: Experience with creative growth tactics (co-marketing, community partnerships, niche channels)
