I’m Yuri. Lately my job looks less like being a frontend engineer and more like someone’s CTO. A founder shows up with an idea and an empty repository, and I turn it into a live product. I choose the stack, design the architecture, define the scope, plan the releases, and write the code.
Whenever I work on something that could benefit others beyond the project, I share it. For instance, I built AgentPrism, an open source React library for reading AI agent traces and Polychrom, an APCA contrast checker for Figma. In other cases, I write articles sharing my experience solving problems that ended up being harder than they looked, like API-first, authentication flows, the Figma plugin API.
I also got a little too into the Figma API and created multiple Figma plugins, which have over 20K users in total. Treating this as a product has helped me get hands-on experience and learn from setting the wrong price or handling multiple feature requests at once. These are some of the reasons my clients trust me and give me a seat at the table.
When I’m off the clock, I do enduro on a Sur-Ron, play instrumental hip-hop I then share on Spotify, and binge Breaking Bad on repeat.
Miru
Problem
Miru is an AI-native cybersecurity and threat prevention startup. While working together, Miru had ideas for two products: an admin console for a lightweight Chrome extension that protects employees from phishing, and a platform for going through security logs. The team came to Evil Martians so we could turn the founders’ vision into reality.
Solution
Along with the founders, I led both products on the technical side. I defined the scope, estimated the MVP timelines, picked the stack, and set up everything from the build to CI/CD and Sentry. Then, I planned releases and epics, conducted design reviews, and helped onboard new engineers. Technology used on this project: NestJS, PostgreSQL, Prisma, AWS Cognito, React, TypeScript, Vite, Cytoscape.js, Node.js, ACL, JWT, Docker.
Results
- Launched two MVPs: the first in four months, the second in six
- The founders raised $2.7M in total funding after this release
AgentPrism
Problem
An agent trace holds all the information about each run, including every plan, tool call, and retry. But when you see it raw, it’s just a wall of OpenTelemetry JSON. So, debugging an agent meant reading spans by hand and rebuilding the timeline in your head.
Solution
At Evil Martians, we built AgentPrism, an open source library of React components that turns this JSON wall into visuals and graphs you can read. As the lead engineer and maintainer, I also built a standalone app around the library, so you can try it with zero setup. You simply upload a trace and see it rendered. It comes with AdonisJS, Inertia.js and React, PostgreSQL, GitHub OAuth, SSR, an admin panel, and analytics. Check it out at agent-prism.evilmartians.io, watch a demo, and get a Figma UI kit.
Results
- 387 stars on GitHub and ~6K npm downloads a week

Blockscout
Problem
Blockscout is the first full-featured open source blockchain explorer, serving 100+ Ethereum-based networks. In this industry, the explorer that shows more than raw transactions wins, so the client came to Evil Martians asking us to build a marketplace for third-party dApps and a stats dashboard from scratch.
Solution
I led the frontend for both features end-to-end, from understanding the client’s requirements, to advising them on technology, to building the tool, to incorporating feedback after testing. Midway through the stats feature, their team gave me full feature ownership, so I also wrote tasks for their backend team, agreed on API contracts, and coordinated with the deploy team to merge it all into the product.
Results
- Both features shipped on schedule
- Onboarded the client’s new product manager on the new features
Synonym
Problem
Synonym finances and builds “fermentation farms” for synthetic biology. It raises the money for them through its own digital products, which it needed Martians to build fast. We were asked to launch an investment platform and an open database of biomanufacturing capacity with a map and search called “Capacitor.”
Solution
We built the two products back to back. On both, I defined the MVP scope and timelines, validated the designs, wrote the web interface, and launched on time.
