Hey 👋 I’m Anton, Head of Design at Evil Martians.
With 20 years of design experience, I focus on interfaces for developers, like IDEs, no-code or canvas-based editors, and node-based workflow builders.
Devs in mind and 100 devtool landing page research reflect my passion for building tools that developers use every day.
I’ve contributed to many of our exciting projects and I’m looking forward to exploring your unique challenge.
HTTPie
Problem
HTTPie (a popular open-source API testing tool) needed graphical interfaces for corporate clients; these users required multi-device accessibility and visual workflows vs. command-line operations.
Solution
Delivered a comprehensive UI redesign with native-feeling desktop and web applications. We also implemented advanced features: workspaces, cloud sync, and multi-language code preview.
Results
- Achieved 24K GitHub stars and active community growth
- Demonstrated steady growth in the number of sent requests
- Users consistently prefer HTTPie over competitors like Postman
- User research shows that users love the product
- Successfully entered corporate market segment
- Set new industry standard for API testing interface design
- Perfectionist-level quality via iterative design process with 10-20 variants per feature

Akeero
Problem
Security teams like Akeero, an AWS architecture audit platform, need to audit complex AWS architectures but existing tools are just visualization software that can’t formally describe system relationships or support team collaboration.
Solution
We built Akeero a custom diagram composer with real-time collaboration, optimistic UI, and formal relationship modeling using SVG-based architecture and Logux for conflict-free data synchronization.
Results
- MVP in 4 months with collaborative real-time editing
- $1.2M pre-seed funding within one year of founding
- 10x smaller bundle size (315KB vs. 2MB industry average)
- Set new standard for collaborative security architecture tools
- Successfully launched with real users and continued independent development

Harmonizer
Problem
Designers have long chosen colors by eye, often leading to inconsistency and unreliable contrast.
Solution
Evil Martians built Harmonizer, the first color palette builder that produces colors with consistent hue, chroma, and contrast across the board. We used advanced technologies (OKLCH and APCA). This project is an example of a design engineering approach: designers build a prototype, test it, then developers refine it into a production-ready product.
Results
- 60 GitHub stars with active community engagement
- Successfully launched on Figma Community platform
- Used to generate Evil Martians’ own Harmony palette
- Set new standard for mathematically consistent color generation
- Made tutorial content showing practical UI design applications

LaunchKit
Problem
Early-stage startups need to iterate quickly and validate hypotheses fast. However, bespoke landing pages that take months to design and build slow down this process.
Solution
Evil Martians developed the first-of-its-kind landing page template tailored specifically for developer tools. We created it by analyzing 100 of the most popular devtool landing pages and distilling the key principles of high-converting design.
Results
- 142 GitHub stars with 24 forks and active community adoption
- 20% conversion rate vs. 5-10% industry average
- Multiple design partners using template for real launches
- Created both HTML and Webflow versions for different workflows
- Validated demand for quality developer marketing solutions
